OUR HISTORY
In the spring of 2004, while living in New Orleans, Louisiana, Pastor Williams was on a two-month medical leave. During this time, the Lord began to deal with him and his wife through prayer and several life-changing encounters about a ministry. God gave him a vision of a faith-reliant church. The ministry would be one of compassion and reconciliation, to be named Faith World Ministries. This would be a church that was prayer-based, God-centered and having a strong ministry of worship.

After serving 10 years as the Pastor of Music under the leadership of Bishop J. Douglas and Elder Lisa V. Wiley at the Life Center Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana, God began to reveal another plan for their lives. This plan required one of the most difficult decisions that Pastor Williams had to make. He was faced with the decision to forsake the church family that they had grown to love, the family that had embraced and loved them unconditionally; all to pursue the plan and vision that God had given him. In April of 2004, Pastor Williams began the pain staking journey to relocate his family to Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ that he would serve as Executive Pastor to the late Bishop Barnett K. Thoroughgood, until God would ultimately launch Faith World Ministries.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Monday, November 15, 2004, was the start of something he didn’t completely understand, but Pastor Williams was instructed by the Lord to call a family prayer in the living room of his home in Virginia Beach. The Lord later revealed that this was the birth of his ministry; right there in the presence of his wife Monique, sisters Margie Felton, Lil and Maria Williams, and his three youngest children Colette, Sydney and Marc. As they began to pray that night, the Holy Spirit took control and manifested His presence in a mighty way.

Through continued prayer and encouragement, the ministry was embraced by Bishop Jasper Rolle, Jr., Bishop J. Matthew Brown, Pastor Doris Campbell and Superintendent DeLawrence Shepherd. Faith World Ministries was officially registered in Virginia Beach in July 2005, and began to hold times of intercessory prayer more consistently. On August 17, 2011 Pastor Williams launched his first public Bible Study Service in a rented facility. Six months later he acquired his own facility, and in the third week of January 2012, Faith World Ministries began to conduct Midweek and Saturday Weekend Celebration Services. One of the most rewarding facets of our worship experience has been our times of soaking in God’s presence. We called these times “Experience His Majesty”.

On Christmas Sunday morning, December 25, 2011, the late Bishop Barnett Thoroughgood laid his hands upon Pastor Williams, conferred the Apostolic Blessing upon his life, and publically sent him and his wife forth into the world for the purpose of ministry.

On Saturday, August 25, 2012, Chief Apostle Olive Brown, Bishop Jasper Rolle, Bishop Darrin Johnson, Bishop B. Courtney McBath, Bishop Samuel L. Green, Jr., Bishop Joel V. Brown, Bishop James F. Brown III, Bishop L. W. Francisco, Bishop Carlton McLeod and Apostle Anthony Albritton, along with many saints from across America, gathered together to celebrate the installation and affirmation of Elder Ezekiel Williams as pastor of Faith World Ministries, Inc.
